Chikmagalur: Rajeshwari Tejaswi, wife of the late renowned Kannada writer K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi passed away aged 84 during the early hours of Tuesday at a private hospital in Bengaluru. 

Rajeshwari Tejaswi, who had been suffering from severe fever for the past four or five days, had been receiving treatment at the Jayanagar Rajalakshmi Hospital. On Tuesday around 6.20 am, she is said to have experienced a heart attack and passed away. 

Writer Poornachandra Tejaswi lived at Hand Post near Mudigere Town in the district. After his demise, Rajeshwari lived alone in the plantation house. However, a few days ago, she had reportedly gone to her daughter’s house in Bengaluru due to deteriorating health. 

The family of the deceased has decided to donate her body to the hospital, it is learned. 

She has created literary works such as ‘Nanna Tejaswi’, ‘Namma Manegoo Bandaru Gandhiji’.

Bengaluru, Dec 27: Two teenagers died after their two-wheeler collided head-on with a canter truck while performing a bike stunt near here on Friday, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Arpaz (18) and Manoj (16), they added.

The incident occurred on the bypass of Devanahalli taluka within the limits of the Vijayapura police station, was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the vicinity, according to police.

The two were reportedly performing a wheelie on their bike and lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a collision with a canter truck coming from the opposite direction, police stated.

"The impact was so severe that the two youth died on the spot," a senior police officer said.

A case has been registered, and further investigation into the matter is underway, he added.
