Mysuru: Members of the Congress city unit held a postal campaign urging the Congress High Command and the Karnataka Congress to give Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah the party ticket from Mysuru-Kodagu for the Lok Sabha elections of 2024.
The campaign was held at the Ramaswamy Circle in the city on Friday, with the Congress activists, led by Mysuru City Corporation member Lokesh Piya, declaring, “We have written to AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and to KPCC President DK Shivakumar with the request, as Dr. Yathindra is the appropriate candidate to defeat Pratap Simha, the sitting MP from the constituency, in the elections next year. We cannot be assured of victory if we field any other candidate against the MP.”
The campaigners added, “Dr. Yathindra is popular among citizens belonging to all castes and religions, due to his simplicity. It would, therefore, be a good choice for the Congress to field him from Mysuru-Kodagu constituency in the elections next year.”
