Bengaluru: BJP MP Pratap Simha's remarks have sparked a controversy, with Minister of Large and Medium Industries MB Patil responding strongly during a press conference held at his residence in Sadashivnagar on Tuesday. Patil accused Simha of being akin to a scorpion and claimed that BJP National Organization General Secretary BL Santosh had nurtured him, along with several other individuals. Patil expressed his disappointment with Simha's continuous personal attacks against him and emphasized the need for respectful discourse.
Addressing the media, Patil stated that he values and respects everyone, highlighting the cultural ethos of inclusiveness. He refuted Simha's characterization of him as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's follower and labeled such accusations baseless. Patil criticized Simha for his lack of knowledge regarding the significance of industrial portfolio, citing his own role as Minister of Large and Medium Industries. He further added that Simha should ask significance of the portfolio to PM Modi.
Patil clarified that his reference to BL Santosh should not be misconstrued as an insult to the entire Brahmin community. He affirmed the positive and cordial relationship he shares with the Brahmin community, inviting anyone interested to witness it in Vijayapura. Patil called upon Simha to cease his personal attacks and expressed concern about Simha's state of mind.

Patil also highlighted his longstanding support for the Brahmin community, citing his contributions to various temples, including the Halagali and Hanuman temples in Vijayapura. He emphasized the positive recognition he has received from the community for his efforts. Patil criticized Simha for his ill-informed and tasteless comments, highlighting the need for responsible and informed discourse.

Bengaluru: A life convict lodged in Ballari Central Prison has successfully cleared the second PUC examination.
Ashok Kumar S, who appeared for the examination under prison escort, secured 481 marks out of 600, registering 80.1 percent.
Director General of Police (Prisons and Correctional Services), Alok Kumar (IPS), shared the development on his official ‘X’ handle, commending the inmate’s achievement.
In his post, he stated that it was heartening to see a life convict score over 80 percent in the examination, adding that the inmate had appeared from Ballari Central Prison under escort.

He further noted that the achievement reflected that the “walls of the prison have not subdued his hopes for a better future.”

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) declared the second PUC results for 2026 on April 9.
A total of 6,32,200 students appeared for the examination across all streams, of whom 5,46,698 passed, recording an overall pass percentage of 86.48 per cent.
