Bengaluru: Karnataka Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge on Wednesday criticised senior Congress leader K N Rajanna for stating that the Congress would not exist in Karnataka without Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deccan Herald reported.

Rajanna had reportedly said on Tuesday that, there was no Congress without Siddaramaiah. He has said this earlier, too.

“You need Congress for the ‘B’ form, you need Congress’ leadership during the election campaign and you want Congress’ ideology. But after winning and coming to power, saying such things is wrong,” Priyank said, without naming Rajanna.

“The party is not by, or for, individuals. None must forget that we (leaders) are here because of workers. Without workers, neither am I a leader nor anyone else,” DH quoted Priyank as saying.

Priyank Kharge said the Congress has a history of over 140 years and leadership keeps evolving over time.

On the delay in appointing Congress workers to boards and corporations, he asked party workers to be patient. He said chairpersons have already been appointed and the appointment of directors is pending. While 85% of the process is done, the rest will be done,” he said.

Citing his father and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, “One needs to have patience in politics. There’s no bigger example than Kharge for hard work and patience,” he said.

Islamabad (AP): President Donald Trump says he told top US envoys not to travel to Pakistan to negotiate with Iran, telling Fox News that "they can call us anytime they want.”

In a brief phone interview Saturday, Trump told Fox News that he told US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner “you're not going to be making any more 18 hour flights to sit around talking about nothing.”

Trump also said of the US side “we have all the cards.”

His comments came after the White House said Friday that Witkoff and Kushner would be heading to Pakistan for another round of negotiations with Iran.
