Chikkamagaluru: The city police arrested five Sangh Parivar activists including the BJP Yuva Morcha district president on Wednesday in connection with the case in which Sangh Parivar leaders and activists staged a dharna in the district collector's office premises and tried to break into the office and obstructed the police.
BJP Yuva Morcha District President Santosh Kotyan and Sangh Parivar activists Kishore, Ravikiran, Amit, Dixit are the arrested accused. The arrested accused have been produced in the court by the police.

Alleging that they were not allowed to hold Taraka Homa at Dattapeetham in the wake of the inauguration of Ayodhya Ram Mandir on January 22, Sangh Parivar leaders and activists including BJP, Bajrang Dal and VHP staged a dharna in front of the District Collector's office last Monday.Although the SP himself assured the protestors that sit-in was not allowed in the premises of the District Collector's office, the activists went on a sit-in despite the instructions of the police. At this time, some activists tried to break into the District Collector's office. To control the situation, the police arrested all the leaders and activists and later released them.
Chikkamagaluru sub-divisional officer Daljith Kumar lodged a complaint with the city police station on the charge of trying to break into the district collector's office and created an FIR against the five activists of the Sangh Parivar. A case of obstructing police duty was also registered against the activists. In connection with this incident, the city police on Wednesday arrested five Sangh Parivar activists including the district president of Yuva Morcha and produced them in the court.

New Delhi (PTI): The maximum temperature in Delhi settled at 32.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 1.3 notches below the seasonal average, according to the India Meteorological Department.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 20.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 1.3 notches below the average for the season, while the relative humidity stood at 46 per cent at 5.30 pm, the IMD said.
The weather department has forecast a partly cloudy sky for Monday with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to hover around 34 and 19 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The air quality remained 'moderate' at 4 pm, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 134, a slight drop from Saturday’s 137, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed.
According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
