Bengaluru: A delegation of Tennis Association on Monday visited the Deputy Chief Minister and Youth and Sports Minister Dr.G. Parameshwar at his residence and urged to construct an international-level Tennis ground in Bengaluru.

Social Welfare Minister and Association member Priyank Kharge, tennis player Rohan Bopanna and others were present.

Speaking to media, Dr.G. Parameshwar said “a team of the Tennis Association met me and discussed many issues. Though a Tennis court is available at Cubbon Park, it has become inaccessible for many due to its certain rules. They have asked to give it an international touch.”

Our government has been encouraging all kinds of sports. All kinds of facilities are being offered for games. Our Government wishes Bengaluru to become a sports capital. Regarding this, we have given a lot of money for sports in this budget. There are many plans, including the construction of a Sports Village on the outskirts of the city, Sports University and an opportunity to sports-related equipment production. New Delhi (PTI): Vice President C P Radhakrishnan on Monday expressed sorrow at the death of 10 patients in a fire at a hospital in Odisha's Cuttack.

In a social media post, the vice president said he was deeply saddened by the tragic fire incident.

"My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families in this hour of grief. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured," he said.

At least ten patients were killed after a fire erupted in an ICU in Odisha government-run SCB Medical College and Hospital early Monday.

Around 11 hospital staff members suffered burn injuries while rescuing patients to safety.
