Bengaluru (PTI): A court here on Saturday remanded Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa to judicial custody in the Renukaswamy murder case till July 4.

His four alleged accomplices Vinay, Pradosh and Dhanaraj too were sent to judicial custody.

The actor was in the police custody since June 11.

Thirteen other accused, including the actor's friend Pavithra Gowda, were remanded to 14 days' judicial custody two days ago.

A total of 17 people are accused in the murder case.

According to police sources, Renukaswamy, a fan of the actor, had sent obscene messages to Gowda, which enraged Darshan, allegedly leading to his murder.

Renukaswamy's body was found near a stormwater drain adjacent to an apartment in Sumanahalli here on June 9.

Raichur: Four people, including three students, were killed when a tyre of the Cruiser vehicle they were traveling in burst, resulting in the vehicle rolling sideways on the stretch near Arginamara Camp in Sindhanur taluk on Tuesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Hayavadana (18), Sujayedra (22) and Abhilash (20), who were students of the Guru Sarvabhauma Samskrita Vidyapeetha in Mantralaya, Andhra Pradesh, and cruiser driver Kamsali Shiva (24). Ten other travelers were seriously injured and are being treated at the Sindhanur Taluk Hospital.

The accident occurred while the group was traveling from Mantralaya at attend an event for the worship of Narahari Theertha near Anegundi in Koppal district. The vehicle tyre burst near the Sindhanur Vaishnavi Devi Gudi Cross on the Raichur-Sindhanur main road. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which toppled on the road.

A case has been registered at the Sindhanur Traffic Police Station in this regard. The officers are investigating.
