Bengaluru: The retired head teacher of a school, who had been absconding after being accused of misbehaving with a young lady at a shopping mall in the city recently, was granted bail in the case after he surrendered before the Magadi Road police officers on Thursday.

On Sunday, retired head teacher Ashwathanarayana had allegedly misbehaving with the lady in the mall, pretending to collide with her and touching her back. He had locked his house at Basaveshwara Nagar and gone missing, allegedly for fear of arrest.

The police sources have said that the case accused has returned to his house at Basaveshwara Nagar. Further action will be taken after consultation with legal experts, they added.

Tehran/Washington: Iran’s Fars News Agency has reported that two missiles struck a US Navy vessel near Jask in the Strait of Hormuz, citing local sources.

According to the report, the vessel was hit after it allegedly ignored warnings from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to halt.

US Central Command said the operation would involve 15,000 military personnel along with more than 100 land- and sea-based aircraft, warships and drones.
