Gadag: In an incident of robbery that occurred in Sharanabasaveshwara Nagar of Betageri in the city, miscreants reportedly attacked a staff member of a petrol bunk using chilli powder and physically assaulted him, before making away with his bag.
The three miscreants reportedly entered the Shrisai petrol bunk late at night by breaking open the glass of a room and found the personnel Fakeeresh sleeping there. They threw chilli powder into his eyes, attacked him with a chair and the table in the room and allegedly threatened to kill him.
The robbers then broke open the drawer in the petrol bunk but, on finding it empty, they are learned to have taken Fakeeresh’s bag of money.
Betageri Police, who have registered a case, are investigating. They have also visited the petrol bunk as part of the probe.

Jaipur (PTI): A pickup van crashed into a parked truck in Rajasthan's Dausa district in the early hours of Wednesday, killing 11 people, including seven children, and injuring eight others, police said.
The passengers of the pickup vehicle were returning to their village in Uttar Pradesh's Etah after visiting Khatu Shyam and Salasar Balaji temple when the accident occurred on Manoharpur highway around 4-5 am, Dausa Superintendent of Police Sagar told PTI.
Those killed include seven children and four women, he said.
Twenty people were on board the pickup vehicle when it rammed into a stationary truck in the service lane of the highway, the SP said, adding that one of the eight injured is in critical condition.
