Rural development department issues order suspending 27 engineers
Bengaluru: The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department took action on Thursday by issuing separate suspension orders for 27 Assistant Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Junior Engineers working within the department. These suspensions were made in response to the officers' dereliction of duty as they failed to report to their newly assigned transfer posts.
The department has issued these suspensions in accordance with the conferred Rule 10(1) (d) of the Civil Service Rules, 1957, all these officers have been suspended pending further departmental inquiry. The suspended officials have been directed to immediately vacate their posts.
The list of suspended officers comprises 5 Assistant Executive Engineers (AEE), 7 Assistant Engineers (AE) and 15 Junior Engineers (JE), read a release from the department.

Two killed as bus hits motorbike
Thane (PTI): Two young men were killed and another was seriously injured when a speeding bus rammed into their motorcycle in Mumbra area of the city on Tuesday evening, police said.
The victims, all residents of Thakur Pada, were riding from Roshni Mahel toward Y Junction.
"The motorcycle was hit from behind by a bus driven by Mustafa Hussain Sheikh (58). The two-wheeler got dragged under the front wheel of the bus," said a traffic police official.
Sangam Rajesh Pulshare (21) and Avinash Ramdas Davande (19) died while Mahesh Bhagwan Vare (18) sustained serious injuries.
The bus driver was detained and a case was being registered at the Mumbra police station, said the official.
