Sagar: Dead body of a young lady doctor was found in a lake here in the city. The incident was reported from Sagar on Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Dr. Sharmada (36), a resident of Jambagarini. According to the preliminary investigation, the police suspect this to be a case of suicide.

Reportedly, Dr. Sharmada had closed her clinic on Monday night and left in her two-wheeler. Her family, concerned by her not returning home till late, went on to look out for her when they found her two-wheeler parked near the lake. Her body was recovered from the lake following an extensive search operation, the police said.

Sharmada had been married to Sunil, who was employed as the secretary at the Bheemankone Gram panchayat, 8 years ago. Sharmada was working in the Taluk Medical officer’s office, it is learned.

The reason behind her suicide is yet to be ascertained and further investigations are underway.
