Chamarajnagar: Salooru Matt, which was in headlines in December last year for serving poisoned food is once again in the news, this time for allegedly selling cattle donated by the devotees.

On Friday, a group of people stopped a truck of the matt carrying 16 cattle allegedly donated by the devotees. Upon enquiring it was revealed that the cattle were being transported to slaughterhouse in Tamil Nadu state.

The driver of the truck, identified as Mahalinga, was handed over to the police, the truck along with the cattle was also brought to the police station.

A case has been registered at local police station and further investigations are underway.

Bengaluru: Mystery shrouded the death of a young woman who was found with her throat and wrist slit on Wednesday.

Prabhudhya (21), who was studying in second PUC, lived with her mother and brother. She was found dead in the bathroom of her house in Subrahmanyapura on Wednesday evening with her throat and wrist slit, police said.

The incident came to light around 7 pm on Wednesday.

The PUC student is said to have died of excess bleeding.

Bengaluru South Division DCP Lokesh B Jagalasar said an investigation is on and would cover all aspects of the incident.
