Security beefed up in Shivamogga as situation heads back to normalcy
Shivamogga: Taking note of the sensitive situation owing to the murder of Bajrang Dal activist Harsha in Shivamogga, security has been beefed up in the district.
Several incidents of violence, stone pelting and torching of vehicles were reported on Monday after which heavy police personnel were deployed in the district on Tuesday.
In terms of police personnel deployment, the district has been assigned with 3 SPs from outside the district, an additional SP, 12 DYSPs, 39 Police Inspectors, 54 PSIs, 48 ASIs, 819 constables, 20 KSRP Platoon, 10-DAR Platoon, and 01- RAF Platoon, it is learned.

Chennai devotee donates electric bus to TTD in Andhra
Tirupati (PTI): A Chennai-based devotee on Saturday donated an electric bus to TTD, which the temple body promised to utilise for freely ferrying pilgrims.
Vardhaman Jain handed over the keys of the bus to TTD additional executive officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdhary.
"Jain donated an electric bus to TTD on Saturday morning," said an official press release from the temple body.
The donor performed special prayers for the bus in front of the Sri Venkateswara temple.
TTD is the official custodian of Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, considered the richest Hindu shrine in the world.
