Seers demand comprehensive development of North Karnataka, stage protest outside Suvarna Soudha
Belgavi: The seers’ protest demanding a comprehensive development of north Karnataka has begun outside Suvarna Soudha in the city.
More than 30 pontiffs have participated in the protest. Separate state for North Karnataka is not needed. Instead, comprehensive development of North Karnataka is required, the seers urged.
The dharna staged by the seers of North Karnataka and their supporters in front of the Suvarna Soudha in Belgaum has received the support of various organisations as well.
The pontiff continued the protest despite rainfall. All government offices must immediately be transferred to Suvarna Soudha, the Swamiji urged.
BJP state President BS Yeddyurappa has supported the protest.

Deeply distressed by loss of lives in Odisha hospital fire incident: President Murmu
New Delhi (PTI): President Droupadi Murmu on Monday condoled the loss of lives in the fire incident at a hospital in Odisha and prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured.
At least ten patients were killed after a major fire erupted in an ICU in Odisha government-run SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, in the wee hours of Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said.
"Deeply distressed by the loss of lives in the tragic fire incident at a hospital in Cuttack, Odisha. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured," Murmu said in a post on X.
