Kalburgi: Senior BJP Leader KB Shanappa on Saturday said Yeddyurappa had sworn in as the Chief Minister despite not winning required numbers in the assembly elections and has recently apologized for operation Kamal which has ashamed the party.

Speaking at a press conference here in the city Shanappa added that despite winning 104 seats in the election BSY sworn in as the CM when the party had to be in the be in the oppositio and then resigned from the post.

He also condemned that Yeddyurappa was jailed and still holds top position in the party.

Speaking about operation Kamala he said “I didn’t believe the allegations at first but when Kumaraswamy released the audio clips and proved it, I was shocked. It was a tough phase in my political career”.

Adding that the party is ignoring senior leaders he added that preferences are being given to the “outsiders”. He also questioned Baburai Chanchanasu’s contribution to the party after including him in the party. “BSY along with other leaders went to Dalit’s home for lunch. I was against the move but they did not pay heed to my advise. So to keep in-line with party discipline I remained quite. What they did there was absolute insult to the Dalits” he said.

Shanappa later announced that he will resign from the primary membership of the party adding that Dr. Umesh Jadhav was included in the party and was given Lok Sabha ticket while those working for the party from so many years and are potential candidates for the ticket were ignored.

Shanappa clarified that he has no plans to join Congress and that he will remain in active politics but will not be part of BJP under BSY's leadership as the latter along with other senior leaders is being dictator of the party.

New Delhi: The countdown has begun for the counting of votes for the Assembly elections in five states that have captured the attention of people across the country.

The counting of votes for the Assembly constituencies of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and the Union Territory of Puducherry will begin simultaneously at 8 am, and the fate of candidates in a total of 824 constituencies will be decided shortly.

The counting of postal ballots will take place first, followed by the counting of EVM votes in several rounds.
