Service in senior citizen field: State award for 8, including Yenepoya Medical College
Bengaluru, Sept 29: Eight people, including Yenepoya Medical College, have been chosen for the state government’s Senior Citizen Service Award, informed Minister of State for Women and Child Welfare Jayamala.
The awards, which carry Rs. 1 lakh cash each, will be presented at a ceremony that will be held at Ravindra Kalakshetra on October 1 during the World Senior Citizens' Day celebrations.
Literature- Nadoja Dr. P.S. Shankar of Kalaburagi district, Social service- Dr.Vijayalakshmi Deshmane, Mahadevi Hullur, Jagadamba, Education- Dr. B.V Kere Martande of Udupi district, Kalakshetra- Chindodi Bangaresh of Davangere, Sports- D.N. Sampath of Mandya District, Law- Sadashiva Siddappa Belagali of Bagalkot district has been elected; said a statement.

Tel Aviv/Tehran: Israeli media have reported that the Israeli military targeted Iran’s security chief Ali Larijani in a fresh round of strikes, though his condition remains unclear.
According to the reports, “the military has targeted Iran's security chief Ali Larijani,” adding that it was not immediately clear whether he was killed or injured.
There has been no official confirmation or response from Iranian authorities so far, Reuters reported.
