Bengaluru: After the city’s Narcotics Control Bureau recently busted a major drug racket, several prominent actors and singers of the state are reportedly under the scanner of the bureau for using drugs.
The move comes on the back of the inputs received by the bureau during the investigation that through the busted racket, famous musicians, actors, students, youngsters, and rich people were being supplied drugs.
The bureau recovered 145 MDMA (Ecstasy) tablet from Royale Suites Hotel Apartment in Kalyan Nagar in the city on August 21 along with 2.20 lakh Rupees in cash. Later, it recovered 96 MDMA tablets and 180 LSD blots from Nikoo homes in the city, Narcotic Bureau Deputy Director, KPS Malhotra informed.
“We then arrested the woman who used to run the racket and recovered 270 MDMA tablets from her house in Bengaluru’s Doddagubbi. We are expecting more arrests in connection with this racket” he further informed.

New Delhi (PTI): India has banned the export of sugar till September 30 this year, according to a government notification.
The notification issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on May 13 said this order does not apply to sugar being exported to the European Union and the US under the tariff rate quota scheme.
The order is also not applicable to the shipments under the advance authorisation scheme, government-to-government exports and consignments already in the physical export pipeline.
"The export policy of Sugar (Raw Sugar, White Sugar and Refined Sugar)... is amended from 'Restricted' to 'Prohibited' with immediate effect till September 30, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier," the DGFT said.
