Shivamogga: Woman commits suicide after writing down JDS leader’s name
Shivamogga, October 17: A woman committed suicide by hanging herself leaving a death note saying that she has taken the extreme step due to the mental torture from a JDS leader, at Bommanakatte layout in the city recently and the incident came to light very late.
The deceased has been identified as Indira Bai (39). In her death note, she said that she was committing suicide due to the torture from Channagiri-based JDS leader and he should be punished. Now, the police contacted the JDS state leader who is in tour. A case was registered at Vinoba Nagar police station and investigation is on.

Three Bangkok flyers arrested with Rs 4.53 crore hydroponic ganja at BLR airport
Bengaluru (PTI): Three passengers who arrived from Bangkok at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Wednesday were arrested with hydroponic ganja valued at Rs 4.53 crore, officials said.
The accused, whose identities have not been disclosed, were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, they said.
In a post on X, Bengaluru Customs said it intercepted three passengers arriving from Bangkok and seized 12.96 kg of hydroponic ganja, valued at Rs 4.53 crore, concealed in their check-in baggage.
Further investigation is underway.
