Madikeri: Karnataka BJP State President and Dakshina Kannada MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel on Saturday slammed former CM Siddaramaiah over his remarks on the alleged irregularities and scam in purchasing of the medical equipment by the Yediyurappa led BJP government in the state.

Nalin Kumar Kateel, while speaking to reporters in Madikeri on Saturday added that the former CM should look at his own scams and irregularities during his tenure as the CM of the state. “Siddaramaiah should look at himself in the mirror first before commenting on the BJP government in the state” Kateel said.

“Chief Minister, Yediyurappa has clarified on all the allegations labelled by Siddaramaiah over the matter. We are ready to clarify everything” Kateel told reporters.

“Siddaramaiah, does not speak about the irregularities in Indira Canteens, during his tenure as the CM of the state. He will not respond to the allegations that are labelled against Congress leader Ishwar Khandre. But now, he is criticizing the BJP government” Kateel further added.

Mysuru: A young man passed away and five others were hospitalized due to consuming contaminated water in K Salundi village of Mysuru district.

The victim, identified as 20-year-old Kanakaraju, lost his life after consuming the water, while several others in the village reported symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea shortly after ingestion. Despite immediate medical attention at a private hospital in Mysuru city, Kanakaraju passed away before receiving treatment.+

Presently, three children and two women from the village are undergoing treatment at the same private hospital. Additionally, there are reports of numerous other villagers suffering from similar symptoms.

Upon receiving word of the incident, District Health Officer Dr. Kumaraswamy immediately visited the village to conduct an investigation, accompanied by a team of experts tasked with probing the source of water contamination.

In a show of concern and solidarity, MLA GT Deve Gowda visited K. Salundi village on Tuesday morning to personally oversee the treatment of those affected.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah directly engaged with the Deputy Commisioner and Health Officer, urging immediate action to ascertain the cause of water pollution and implement necessary measures. He also directed them to ensure that comprehensive medical care is provided to all affected individuals.
