Bellary: Concerning the news that Former Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy is setting up a new regional party Kalyana Rajya Pragati Paksha (KRPP) before the state elections next year, his brother G. Somashekhar Reddy has said, “My brother is not quitting the BJP or starting a new party”.
Speaking to the press in this regard, the Bellary MLA G. Somashekhar Reddy said, “He has not taken any such decision”, he clarified.
“Janardhan Reddy will not leave the BJP. The news that he is starting a new party is all speculation”, he informed.
Janardhan Reddy, who has been conducting rallies along with his supporters across the Gangavati Vidhana Sabha constituency in the Koppala district, is said to have bought a house in Gangavati.

Palakkad (Kerala) (PTI): A Vande Bharat train operating from Ernakulam to Bengaluru sustained minor damage in a stone-pelting incident a day earlier, police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred near Parali in Palakkad district at around 4.30 pm on Friday, an officer of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Palakkad, said.
“No one was injured in the incident. One of the train’s windows suffered minor damage,” the officer said.
He added that the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has registered a case and launched an investigation.
“GRP and RPF teams are present at Parali as part of the investigation. The stones may have been thrown by a person of unsound mind or someone who was intoxicated,” the officer said.
