Son leaves his father on road: Aged father dies in district hospital
Mangaluru/Dharwad, October 28: An aged person who was admitted to the district hospital after his son reportedly abandoned him on the road recently, died in the hospital at Dharwad on Saturday evening. The deceased has been identified as Vincent Christine (76) of Mathikere in Bengaluru.
About incident
On October 24, a youth who came in a car left the aged person near Garag Cross in Dharwad on national highway 4 and went. After noticing this, the locals thought that someone has dropped the person. But the aged person was scared after this incident as he did not know where to go, it is said.
When the local people enquired him, they came to know that his son has abandoned him on the road. Suddenly, they informed the local police and admitted to the hospital.
The aged person who was a mechanic in Bengaluru was living with his son at Mathikere. It was said that he wanted to go home or drop him to his home or nearby church. He pleaded for a job as he did not have money to purchase medicine, it was reported.
Though he was treated for four-five days continuously in the hospital, he did not respond to the treatment. The body was kept in the hospital. His photo and information was sent to all police stations to find his relatives. Already, two police constables from Dharwad rural police station have left for Bengaluru for investigation, PSI Anand told Varthabharati.
A case was registered at Dharwad rural police station.

The post quickly went viral, with many users expressing shock and disbelief. Some criticized the CEO’s indulgence, questioning the morality of spending such a large sum on a pet accessory when pressing issues like poverty and animal welfare exist. Comments ranged from disbelief to sharp criticism, with one user remarking, "Imagine how far $20k would go at an animal rescue." Others viewed it as a reflection of societal excess, calling it a "grotesque illustration of what's wrong in society."
However, Thakore also found support from some users, who defended his right to spend his wealth as he pleased. One commenter noted the irony of criticism coming from people who indulge in expensive gadgets, writing, "It's funny how many condemn this spending yet think nothing of buying an $800 iPhone without considering charity."
