Son of late underworld Don Muthappa Rai shot at by unknown assailants in Karnataka
Ramanagara (PTI): The son of late underworld don N. Muthappa Rai was allegedly shot at by unidentified assailants near his residence in Bidadi here, police said on Saturday.
Ricky Rai is currently undergoing treatment at Manipal hospital in Bengaluru, they said.
The incident occurred between 1:00 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. (late Friday night) near his residence when he was travelling from Bidadi to Bengaluru in his car.
According to the police, some unidentified people allegedly opened fire and a bullet struck the vehicle. He was seated in the rear along with his gunman when the bullet pierced through the driver's seat, injuring both the driver and Rai.
A case has been registered and efforts are being made to nab the suspects, he added.

Attack on fish vendor after Suhas Shetty’s murder: Rowdy-sheeter Kodikere Lokesh held
Mangaluru: Rowdy-sheeter Kodikere Lokesh has been arrested by city police for alleged assault and attempted murder of a fish-monger in Ullal after the recent murder of Suhas Shetty.
Shetty, who had been a rowdy-sheeter, was hacked to death with lethal weapons near Bajpe on Thursday, May 1. Lokesh and his associates attacked Lukman when he was selling fish near Kuntikan in Mangaluru city on Friday, allegedly in retaliation for Shetty's murder. They had also attempted to kill him with a stone, but, as a woman nearby yelled with fear, the group held back and escaped from the spot. Lukman received treatment at a hospital for his injuries.
The investigation team has now arrested Lokesh for attacking and attempting to murder Lukman.
