‘Sonia Gandhi might be of Italian origin, but…’ tweets actor Ramya
Bengaluru: A recent post on Sonia Gandhi on the Twitter handle of Kannada actor and former Congress MP Ramya has surprised many.
Ramya, who has withdrawn from active politics, was seen participating in the Congress rally Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka recently.
On Tuesday, the actor tweeted, “Sonia ji maybe of italian origin but she’s more Indian than most Indians- for sure.”
With Rishi Sunak becoming the new British Prime Minister of Indian origin, many have asked on social media why Indians take pride in Sunak’s rise to the position but refuse to accept Sonia Gandhi, who is of Italian origin, as an Indian, said sources.
Ramya’s post in the backdrop of the question, also apparently challenging the difference in treatment towards Sunak and Sonia Gandhi, is said to be a surprise for many people.
