Bengaluru: A recent meeting between Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara and All India Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge, along with another gathering in Davangere, has sparked political speculation.

Despite the growing buzz, Parameshwara dismissed any political discussions, insisting that the meeting with Kharge was purely social. "We are family friends, and meet often, but we never discuss politics," he stated.

When asked about his upcoming trip to New Delhi to meet the party’s high command, Parameshwara responded, “Yes, I am going to New Delhi. But if I discuss anything related to politics, I will reveal it. There’s nothing to hide in such meetings, and there is no need for speculation.”

Meanwhile, Parameshwara slammed Union Minister for Commerce and Industries Piyush Goyal for referring to tax refund demands as "petty thinking." Parameshwara expressed his disapproval, saying, “The Union minister should be ashamed of himself. We have made these demands based on the tax share norms set in the federal structure. Such statements from responsible ministers reflect the kind of administration this country is under.”
