Bengaluru: It was a matter of sheer pride for the staff at the Vidyarthi Bhavan in the city to offer Zev Siegl, who is the co-founder of Starbucks, the largest coffee chain in the world, masala dosa with a cup of filter.
Siegl is visiting the state capital for the Global Investors Meet 2022.
The Vidyarthi Bhavan itself is a heritage South Indian vegetarian restaurant in Bengaluru, as it was opened as a students’ eatery in 1943.
The staff shared pictures of his visit on Instagram, reports NDTV, while Siegl wrote in the guest book of the hotel, “My friend, it is an honour to enjoy your famous food, coffee and warm welcome. I will take this wonderful experience with me back to Seattle. Thank you.” Siegl also added three stars to his note.
For onlookers online, the post has gone viral on social media and people were greatly excited to watch the Starbucks co-founder have filter coffee.
Some called the occasion ‘a coffee day’, while a person asked on Twitter if Vidyarthi Bhavan could be taken to a global level with a tie-up with Starbucks.
