Bengaluru, August 22: Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda urged the state government to list out the children sheltered in relief camps and supply textbooks to them as the children were being deprived from education.

In his tweet, the minister said that if their parents agreed, the government should make arrangements to admit them to residential schools and provide free education. Normally, the parents would not agree to send their children away as they would be depressed mentally during such critical time. In such circumstances, temporary school or special residential school should be opened locally to educate the children, he tweeted.

The government should immediately constitute a committee to ensure good education to the children staying in relief camps. If the government gave him the details, he would get the available assistance from the departments concerned. No child should be deprived of the education and the government should make sure that the children who would admit to residential schools should get money as and when they require to get necessary things, he tweeted.
