Tanveer Sait misses ministerial berth: Irate supporters protest, Fan attempts suicide
Mysuru: Supporters of former minister Tanveer Sait staged an outcry when he lost the ministership on Wednesday.
During the protest that was staged on Mysuru-Bengaluru Road, one of the protesters tried to commit suicide by pouring kerosene on himself. Police immediately intervened and rescued him.
Protesters set burning tires in the middle of the road when no one became the minister from Mysuru Congress.
One of the protesters said "Tanveer Sait has been elected for the fourth consecutive term. He is a senior Congressman in the district. He would have given a minister post. But intentionally he has been kept out of the cabinet. Earlier, he served as a minister without any stigma. In spite of that, he was not given ministerial berth. It is highly condemnable."
Many protesters including Naseer, Ayub Khan, Altaf, Mahesh, Rajesh, and Akbar participated in the protest.

Davangere: Two policemen injured in stone pelting during Ganesha procession
Davangere: Reports state that two groups engaged in stone pelting at each other during Ganesha idol immersion ceremony in Davangere on Thursday. Two police personnel were injured in the incident.
Few days ago, two groups of youth engaged in verbal altercation regarding raising of a flag for Eid Milad celebration. On account of the clashes, police had heightened security for the Ganesha procession. Despite the additional security, stones were pelted at the procession, sources stated. Inspector Gururaj and constable Raghavendra were injured in the incident. The procession continued after the police brought the situation to control. However, the stone pelting resumed once again as the procession surged forwards.
Security has been tightened up in the area and all shops have been closed down by the police. The two police personnel, who were injured in the stone pelting, are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
