Bengaluru, Aug 02: Minister DK Shivakumar and four others have been granted interim bail by the Economic Criminal Court in a tax evasion case.

The IT department officials had filed a complaint against DK Shivakumar and four others with the Economic Criminal Court. Minister DK Shivakumar, who had been summoned by a special court to appear for the trail, had already been granted bail in three cases filed by the IT department.

The court has to submit Rs. 50,000 surety bond each to all of them. The next hearing has been postponed to September 20.

New Delhi (PTI): President Droupadi Murmu on Monday condoled the loss of lives in the fire incident at a hospital in Odisha and prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured.

At least ten patients were killed after a major fire erupted in an ICU in Odisha government-run SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, in the wee hours of Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said.

"Deeply distressed by the loss of lives in the tragic fire incident at a hospital in Cuttack, Odisha. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured," Murmu said in a post on X.
