Bengaluru: A recent modification to the logo of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has stirred controversy, with BJP leader CT Ravi stating that India is a Hindu nation and suggesting those unhappy with the change should go to Pakistan.

The NMC's logo underwent alterations, omitting the national emblem and introducing an image of Dhanvantri, an avatar of Vishnu associated with the initiation of Ayurveda. The use of 'Bharat' in the logo instead of 'India' also raised eyebrows.

Journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani challenged Ravi's stance, asserting that India is a secular country governed by a constitution where all religions are equal, and the state has no designated religion.

In response, CT Ravi tweeted, "Anyone having problems with the image of Dhanvantari should quit Bharat and go to their beloved Pakistan. Why are Jihadis screaming that Bharat is not a HINDU COUNTRY? Who were their Ancestors? Do these Clowns have any idea? Bharat was always a HINDU RASHTRA and will forever remain a HINDU RASHTRA. SWINES can keep crying!"

The controversial logo change drew criticism from the Kerala section of the Indian Medical Association, which deemed it unacceptable to the modern medical fraternity. The association expressed concern that the new logo conveyed a misleading message and compromised the scientific and secular nature of the commission. They urged the cancellation of the move.

Gumla (PTI): Three persons were arrested on Monday for allegedly raping two women at a village in Jharkhand’s Gumla district, police said.

All the three accused have been remanded to judicial custody, Gumla Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge, Mahendra Karmali, told PTI.

According to police, one of the women had been called to Gumla Sadar by her boyfriend on Sunday for an outing.

“She arrived at the spot accompanied by a female. The woman’s boyfriend then called a friend, and they took the two women to a secluded place in Sisai police station area in the evening, forcibly made them consume alcohol before raping them,” the officer said.

The accused later called another man to the spot, who also allegedly raped the women, he said.

“The women later reached the Sadar Police Station and lodged a complaint on Sunday night. Police conducted raids and nabbed the three accused on Monday,” he added.
