Shivamogga, September 14: “Those who are conspiring to destabilize the coalition government have to face the music as the government has the blessings from the God and the gurus”, said former prime minister and JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda.

Inaugurating the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Malenadu Credit Cooperative Society here on Friday, Deve Gowda said that some vested interests have been conspiring to destabilize the government. One class of people has been waiting to see the collapse of the coalition government and formation of their government. Definitely, those who have fixed the Muhurta for toppling the coalition government have to face the music. No one could do anything as the government has the blessings of the God and Gurus. The government would be stable, he said.

Good work

Though there were minor issues, the government has been working satisfactorily. For the last three months, some people have been predicting that the government would be collapsed. They have fixed Muhurta to form their government. But the time would give them the answer, he said.

Becoming the Chief Minister with just 37 MLAs was not an easy task. Kumaraswamy was backed by a power and it would protect the government from all such difficulties. There was no doubt in it, he said.

Cooperative societies should work honestly for the development. Cooperative leaders should work to achieve the goals of the societies and contribute for the welfare of the society, he said hailing the efforts of the Malenadu Credit Cooperative Society.

Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Prasanna Natha Swamiji, Ministers DC Thammanna and Bandeppa Kashempur, MLC SL Bhoje Gowda, Former MLAs Kimmane Rathnakar and Sharada Poorya Nayak, JDS leaders M Srikanth, G Madappa and others were present.

New Delhi (PTI): The Congress on Wednesday expressed deep concern over the "atmosphere of insecurity" being faced by religious minorities in Bangladesh and the arrest of Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das.

In a statement, Chairman of the party's Media and Publicity Department Pawan Khera said, "The Indian National Congress expects the government of India to prevail upon the Bangladesh government to take necessary steps and ensure security of life and property of minorities in the country".

"The Indian National Congress expresses its deep concern at the atmosphere of insecurity being faced by religious minorities in Bangladesh. The arrest of the ISCKON monk is the latest example," he said.

A lawyer was killed on Tuesday during clashes between security personnel and followers of Das, who was denied bail and sent to jail by a court in the port city of Chattogram in Bangladesh in a sedition case.

Das, the spokesperson for Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote, was arrested from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka a day earlier.

India on Tuesday noted with "deep concern" the arrest and denial of bail to the Hindu leader, and urged authorities in the neighbouring country to ensure the safety and security of Hindus and all other minority groups.

Bangladesh reacted sharply to the Ministry of External Affairs statement, saying it was unfounded and stood contrary to the spirit of friendship between the two countries.

In its statement, Dhaka said it does not interfere with the country's judiciary, which is fully independent
