Mysuru: A live wire that was lying on a field caused the electrocution of three farmers of a village in T Narasipura taluk here on Sunday morning.

Rachegowda, 60, Mahadevaswami, 38, and Harish, 32, were killed in the mishap that occurred in Neelasoge village of T Narasipura taluk.

Rachegowda visited his rice field on Sunday morning but did not notice the live wire lying on the ground there. As he underwent an electric shock due to contact with the cable, Mahadevaswami rushed to help him, but also got a shock. Harish reportedly tried to help the duo and received a shock himself.

As a result, however, all three farmers were electrocuted, said sources.

A case was registered by the T Narasipura Police. Chescom officials also reportedly visited the place.

Bhopal, Dec 28: A 10-year-old boy fell into an open borewell in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district on Saturday evening and a rescue operation was underway, officials said.

The incident took place in Raghogarh area.

Sumit Meena, the boy, slipped into the open shaft of the borewell at Pipliya village, about 50 km from Guna district headquarters, about 5 pm.

He was trapped at a depth of around 39 feet, Raghogarh Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh told PTI from the spot.

A parallel pit has been dug to rescue him, he said.

While police started the rescue operation immediately, a team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had also arrived from Bhopal, the MLA said.

Oxygen was being pumped into the borewell, he said.
