Three youngsters drown while swimming in canal near Hospet
Vijayanagara: An outing for a swim in a canal on the outskirts of Hospet on Saturday turned tragic for a group of youngsters as three of them drowned in the water body.
The three deceased youth have been identified as Yashwanth, Anjini and Gururaj.
Hospet Rural Police registered a case and the investigating officers paid a visit to the canal area.
They have said that the group had consisted of six youngsters, who were college students and residents of Gundagram and MG Nagar of Hospet as well as Ningapur of Koppal.
The surviving members of the group were called to the Hospet Rural Police Station for questioning, it is learned.

Asked to bat first, in-form opener Kohli got off to a brisk start before Rajat Patidar (55 off 23 balls) joined his senior partner to take the PBKS bowlers to the cleaners.
Cameron Green contributed a breezy 46 off 27 balls.
