Three youth killed on the spot, one seriously injured as truck rams their car near Shivamogga
Shivamogga: Three young men from Davanagere died on the spot and one was grievously injured as a truck collided with their car near Kallapura under the Shivamogga Rural Police Station jurisdiction on Sunday morning.
The victims of the accident are identified as Karthik (21), who was driving the car, Vivek (21), and Mohan (21).
The injured Rudresh, who is admitted to the Shivamogga McGann Hospital, is battling for life, police sources have said.
The goods lorry is learned to have rammed the youngsters’ car in the vicinity of Kallapura near Abbalagere on the outskirts of Shivamogga city.
Rural Police, who registered a case, are investigating. They have taken the truck driver into custody. Inspector Abhay Prakash and the investigating team also visited the accident site.

Two labourers killed in crane collapse at Link Road project site in Thane district
Thane (PTI): Two labourers were killed on Saturday when a crane collapsed at the under-construction Dahisar-Bhayander Link Road project site in Maharashtra's Thane district, police said.
According to the police, the “gantry crane coastal girders platform”, where labourers were working, suddenly collapsed at 12:30 PM in Bhayander (West), severely injuring Raghunath Das (38) and Kana Singh (45). They were declared dead at a hospital.
"Police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating," said Bhayander police station senior inspector Jitendra Kamble.
Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the crane collapse and to determine if any negligence was involved.
The Dahisar-Bhayander Link Road (DBLR) elevated coastal road project connects Dahisar (West) and Bhayander (West).
