Mangaluru, June 14:  As the Tunga river is overflowing on the SK Border and Nemmar road which connects Mangaluru and Chikmagaluru, the traffic movement on the road was suspended on Thursday.

More than 50 vehicles including buses were stuck on the road due to overflowing of water on the road on Thursday afternoon. A private bus heading towards Mangaluru from Davangere also stuck on the road.

When information was sought in media and police WhatsApp group, Chikmagaluru SP Annamalai confirmed that the bus stuck in between SK Border and Nemmar and informed that all passengers were safe. Moreover, the SP also made food arrangement for the passengers through local police and tahsildar.

Meanwhile, the traffic movement on Sringeri road 169 was also disrupted near Muruvinakombe due to landslide. Tunga river water reached steps of the Sringeri temple. But as of now, the situation is under control, said SP Annamalai.
