Kalaburagi: In a suspected case of hit and run reported from Ravur near Chittapur Taluk here in the district, three people including an unidentified woman who were traveling on a bike, died on the spot after their bike collided with another unknown vehicle.

The deceased have been identified as Bhimashanker Subhash Pyati (28), a resident of Ravur village, Akbar Patel (26), and a 20-year-old unidentified young woman. It is learned that the deceased young men were working as lorry drivers.

Vadi Police station’s PSI and staff visited the site of the accident and conducted an investigation. They suspect that a lorry could have caused the accident and fled from the scene.

A case has been registered at the Vadi Police Station and an investigation is underway.

Mangaluru: A two-wheeler rider was killed on Sunday morning after his vehicle collided with a tanker from behind near Arkula Bridge, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Ashfaq (22), a resident of Farangipete.

According to reports, the tanker was heading towards BC Road when the two-wheeler rammed into it from behind near a furniture shop close to Arkula Bridge. Ashfaq sustained severe injuries.

He was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Padil where he recived initial treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries while being taken to another private hospital in the city for further treatment, police added.

Traffic police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
