Vijayapura: It is not unusual to see twin sisters attending SSLC exams, but certainly rare that twin sisters secure exact same number of marks in the exam.
This rare feat is achieved by Saba and Zeba Mulla; the twin sisters who secured 99.2 % result by scoring 620/625 marks.
Daughters of Liyaquat Mulla, who is serving as Head Master in the government school Babanagar in the district, the sisters are the students of SECAB educational Institution in the city.
Elated for getting twin results, the sisters said that they used to spend around 7-8 hours daily studying and preparing for the exam.
“We were confident of getting good marks, but never thought that we will get exact same number of marks in the exam. This is very surprising for us”, said Saba. She said that the constant support of the family and the teachers helped them achieve good marks.
Asked whether the lockdown due to pandemic made any impact on their studies, Zeba said that the lockdown had its own advantage and disadvantage.
Saba added, “Due to lockdown, we got enough time to study as there was nothing else to do. We spent most of our time preparing for the exam. But on the contrary, we faced difficulties as we could not go to school to clear our doubts. However, the teachers helped us through online classes in clearing the doubts and preparing for exams.”
The twin sisters advised the SSLC students to work hard and spend at least 7-8 hours studying for better results. “If the SSLC students have already got their study materials, then start studying now itself. It will help the students when the schools will reopen in coming days”, Saba said. They wish to take science in PUC and become doctors in future.
Equally elated is their father, Liyaquat Mulla who said that he encourages his daughters to do best in their academics.
“I have four children and have dedicated my entire life to ensure that they get best education. My twin daughters have made me feel proud with their results. I am sure they will continue to give similar performance in their future studies. I wish all parents to support their children in their studies whether it is a son or daughter”, he said.

Bengaluru: Leader of Opposition in the Assembly R. Ashoka has accused the Congress government of using the hijab issue to placate what he described as discontent among minority voters after the Davanagere by-election.
In a post on X on Wednesday, Ashoka alleged that the state government, instead of addressing issues such as price rise, corruption, farmers’ distress and law and order, was attempting to retain its minority vote base by reviving the hijab issue.
Referring to the 2022 dress code introduced by the BJP government, which prohibited hijab in schools and colleges, Ashoka said the Karnataka High Court had upheld the policy and emphasised the importance of discipline in educational institutions.
He questioned the Congress government’s move to revisit the issue and asked whether setting aside the court-backed policy to benefit one community could be described as secularism.
Ashoka further alleged that while the government was willing to permit hijab, it continued to prohibit saffron shawls.
He accused the government of dividing students on religious lines rather than treating schools and colleges as spaces of equality.
Drawing a comparison with Mamata Banerjee’s government in West Bengal, Ashoka claimed that excessive appeasement politics had harmed the state and warned that the Congress in Karnataka could face a similar political response.
He said voters in Karnataka would teach the Congress a lesson for what he termed “vote-bank politics” and for compromising constitutional and judicial principles.
