Koppa, Chikkamagaluru: In a tragic incident, two young children died on Tuesday after accidentally falling into an open well while playing on a coffee estate in Ammadi, located in Chikkamagaluru's Koppa taluk.

The victims, identified as Seema (6) and Radhika (2), were the daughters of Sunitha Bai and Arjun Singh, who are from Nazirabad, Madhya Pradesh. Arjun Singh resides in Nazirabad, while Sunitha had brought her children along to assist with work at the estate.

The tragedy unfolded when Sunitha returned home from work in the evening and found her children missing. Suspecting they may have fallen into the nearby open well, locals began searching the area. Seema's body was discovered in a well about 100 meters from the house. However, Radhika's body was not found initially.

Fire and rescue teams were called to the scene and launched an operation to search the well further. Radhika's body was eventually located. Both children's bodies have been sent to the local government hospital for post mortem.

A case has been filed at the Koppa police station, and authorities are investigating the incident.
