Two killed on the spot as bike rams into power pole near resort in Suntikoppa
Madikeri: Two riders were killed on the spot after their motorbike rammed into an electricity police by the road near The Birchwood Retreat resort in Suntikoppa late Monday night.
The deceased bikers have been identified as Uday (25) and Chandan (26), residents of the Madhurama Layout in Suntikoppa. They had been riding from Kushalnagar to Suntikoppa on Monday night, when the accident occurred. Since the area is deserted, the incident did not come to light till Tuesday morning, said sources.
The Suntikoppa Police officers have visited the accident spot for an inspection.

Gunmen attack building housing Israeli Consulate in Istanbul
Istanbul (AP): A gunfight erupted outside a building housing the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul on Tuesday, leaving two assailants dead and a police officer wounded, Turkiye's Haberturk broadcaster reported.
The report said attackers were carrying long-barreled weapons. An exchange of fire with police killed two, while a third assailant was captured. One officer sustained injuries during the clash.
The area surrounding the building was quickly sealed off.
