Bengaluru: The rise in the number of immoral policing by the cops in Bengaluru has raised concerns among the residents of the city. The city police on Friday dismissed two more constables from service for harassing a married couple here in the city.
The incident was reported from Manyata Tech Park when the couple was walking back home earlier in December last year. The two constables had reportedly harassed the couple and forced them to pay Rs. 1,000 through an online payment app.
The cops had reportedly told the couple that they had broken the law by walking on the street after 11. pm. The couple was walking home from a birthday cake-cutting event.
The city police had launched a probe against the allegations by the couple who had reported the incident on Twitter urging the City Police Commissioner to take action against the cops involved.
On Friday the city police the two constables involved in the matter from service.
Earlier last week, a home guard attached to the BBMP was also arrested or harassing a woman and her male friend for sitting “without permission” nearby a lake in the city.

Kasaragod: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Kasaragod Deanery, in collaboration with the Christ King Youth Movement (CKYM) Kayyar, is all set to host the highly anticipated cultural and arts festival, Kalotsav-2025. The event will take place at Christ the King Church grounds in Kayyar on January 11 and 12.
According to a release from CKYM Kayyar, the festival will commence at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, and will continue on Sunday, January 12, from 11:00 AM until 10:30 PM.
Kalotsav-2025 promises a spectacular celebration of creativity, entertainment, and community engagement, with an array of cultural performances, family entertainment activities, exciting games with prizes, and a variety of competitions. Featured events include face painting, stand-up comedy, bottle painting, singing, dance, and more.
All Konkani speaking people from across 16 parishes under the Kasaragod Deanery will participate in the festivities, making it a grand showcase of talent and unity.
