Bengaluru: Priyank Kharge, the Minister for Information Technology and Biotechnology, checked out Uber Shuttle display at the Bengaluru Tech Summit on Wednesday, marking a significant step in the ride-hailing giant's expansion plans in India.
Uber Shuttle, which has already been launched in Delhi and Kolkata, is designed to accommodate more passengers in larger vehicles, operating on fixed routes and provided pre-booked seats to streamline urban travel.
In a statement, Uber said Kharge emphasised the importance of technology-driven solutions to address traffic congestion and improve the efficiency of transport systems in cities like Bengaluru.
According to Prabhjeet Singh, president, Uber India, the shuttle service could potentially operate from Hebbal and the tech hub on the Outer Ring Road.
