Bengaluru, November 6: VS Ugrappa of Congress in Ballary Lok Sabha seat, Shivarame Gowda of JDS in Mandya LS seat and Anitha Kumaraswamy of JDS in Ramanagar emerged victorious in the by-elections with a huge margin. But the Election Commission is yet to announce their victory officially.
In Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency, BY Raghavendra of BJP maintained the lead against his opponent Madhu Bangarappa of JDS. However, in Jamkhandi assembly constituency, Anand NyamaGouda of the Congress is inching towards victory.

Man from Mangaluru held for circulation of fake UAE currency in Bhatkal
Bhatkal: A Mangaluru-based man, Raveen Prakash, was arrested under charge of circulating fake foreign currency on Bunder Road in Bhatkal. He has been remanded to two days of judicial custody.
The police have seized one car, a mobile phone and 17 fake notes of 100, 500 and 1,000 denominations of United Arab Emirates Dirham currency during the operation.
The police, who received information on suspicious activities on Bunder Road in Bhatkal, investigated the matter and arrested Raveen Prakash. The officers have said that they also seized the currency and other items from Prakash after interrogation.
They are investigating the matter further to get information regarding the involvement of others in the crime.
