Sullia: Residents of Guttigaru village in Sullia taluk recently extended help to a Kerala family who had lost their belongings during a bus journey and were planning to walk back home.

The family from Idukki, Kerala, consisting of a couple and their son Sibin Juven, was traveling from Mysuru to Mahe Church when their luggage, including their purse and mobile phones, was stolen. Left without money, they managed to travel up to Subrahmanya but had no means to continue their journey home and decided to proceed on foot.

Upon reaching Guttigaru, they tried to meet a known acquaintance but found that he was not in town. Noticing their distress, local resident Sheshappa Naik Halemajalu informed Amara Taluk Public Charitable Trust President Chandrashekhar Kadodi about their plight.

Kadodi then approached Fr. Adarsh Joseph, the Bishop of Guttigaru Church, who, along with Mangala Driving School owner Sattvik Kannadka, Bharat Derumajal, and Sheshappa Naik, arranged ₹3,800 for the family’s travel expenses. With their support, the family was able to board a bus and return to Idukki.
