Bengaluru: "The leader who was our party state president has pointed towards me saying that he has resigned because of me. He himself had given a statement four months back. I would like to read out that statement before the House. Vishvanath had said 'opposition party is in urgency to grab power. But it is not fair to take wrong route for power. It is detrimental to purchase MLAs in a democratic system', Minister SR Mahesh said in the House.

"But when he made serious allegations against me, I have invited him to my farm house and asked him whether he wanted to become a minister. But he said he doesn't want to become minister. When I asked, he said he has borrowed loans during elections and he has to repay Rs 28 crores and now he was in trouble. Vishwanath also said that BJP people have contacted him and agreed to give him amount. But Deve Gowda had given him the responsibility believing him. So he said he would not leave the party and asked me to arrange anyhow to repay the loans. But I have said I would give him some amount every month with the money I would earn", he said.

"When I have gone to America, I have called him and asked whom should I give the money for this month. But he said he would come home. After this, he has levelled serious allegations against me. It's clear that he has gone to Mumbai after getting money. I came to know about it when he made allegations against me. Summon Vishwanath to the House. Let him prove that my words are false", Mahesh challenged.
