Bengaluru, June 16: JDS supremo and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda clarified that H Vishwanath would be continued as the party state president and there was no question of replacing him.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Gowda said that the post of the JDS state president would remain vacant till his return. He has never asked for a ministerial berth. But he was not happy with the politics in Mysuru. He would be convinced, he said.

Nikhil in politics

There was no plan to field Nikhil to Lok Sabha elections. But yielding to the pressure of Mandya local leaders, the party fielded him to the election, but he was defeated, he said and clarified that more than film field, Nikhil would continue in politics.

Strengthening the party

He had announced earlier on giving up Hassan LS seat to Prajwal Revanna. He would not hold anybody responsible for his defeat in Tumakuru constituency. Discussion on his defeat now was unnecessary and he was concentrating on strengthening the party, he said.
