Bengaluru: The Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) in Karnataka has postponed the first-year engineering exams scheduled for April 20, 2023, to April 27, 2023.
The reason for the postponement is that the teachers of VTU are attending a training program organized by the Election Commission for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state. The teachers will be drafted as EC personnel for the elections.
A circular released by the university stated, "Document verification of 2022-23 academic year students' admissions is in the final stage and likely to be completed by this week. Teachers are also attending training given by the Election Commission of India for the Karnataka Assembly elections. Because of these reasons, first-year engineering exams scheduled on April 20 are postponed to April 27."
The nomination process is currently underway for the Assembly polls, which are scheduled to take place on May 10, 2023.
