Bengaluru, October 17: Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar said that both Congress and JDS have unanimously selected candidates for by-elections to three Lok Sabha and two Assembly constituencies.

Speaking to reporters at the Vidhana Soudha here on Wednesday, Parameshwar said that JDS has supported the Congress candidates from Ballary and Jamakhandi. Both Congress and JDS would not require certificate or analysis from Yeddyurappa and Shobha Karandlaje about the unity, he said.

“In the coalition government, none has personal issue or prestige. We all are working together. By winning in all the five constituencies, the coalition government will strengthen its base further. The BJP will face the humiliation. Since Ballary constituency is for ST category, the Congress has fielded VS Ugrappa. More than that, he is our senior leader. Here caste factor plays no role”, Parameshwar clarified.
