Vijayapura: BJP MP Ramesh Jigajinagi from Vijayapura expressed his disappointment at the party's loss in the Assembly elections. He attributed the defeat to the party high command's decision to give tickets to newcomers and made controversial remarks, suggesting that individuals who suggested such gamble to the party high-command should be "hanged" or "mutilated."

During a press conference on Tuesday, Jigajinagi stated, "More than 70 candidates fielded by the BJP for the Assembly elections were inexperienced, and only a few of them emerged victorious. If the party high command had instead given tickets to experienced members, the BJP could have easily won over 130 seats, thereby securing a majority in the Karnataka Assembly."

He also highlighted the departure of influential political leader and former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar from the party, as well as the Congress' guarantee schemes, which he claimed were costly for the BJP.

In response to Jigajinagi's remarks, the Karnataka Congress took to Twitter and mockingly questioned the BJP, asking whom they intended to "hang" for the mistake of fielding newcomers. They listed several prominent BJP figures, including Amit Shah, BL Santhosh, Pralhad Joshi, Narendra Modi, and Basavaraj Bommai, and inquired about the responsibility for the defeat, suggesting that someone should be held accountable.
