Bengaluru: Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday asserted that the government did not cause inconvenience to migrant labors while they were returning to their states. He added that the Congress was playing petty politics over the issue.
Speaking at a press conference in the city on Thursday evening he added that it was onto the people of the state to make the lockdown 3.0 successful adding that if the third lockdown fails, the government will be forced to take stricter action and measures further to stop the spread of COVID-19.
“A few relaxations have been given for agricultural and economic activities, but that doesn’t mean we have defeated the Corona Virus. The virus is still there and to defeat it, people need to strictly follow and implement the instructions sent out by the state and central government” he said.
“We can only bring the situation under control by maintaining physical distancing and wearing masks and by following other such instructions. Else the situation will only worsen the government will be forced to pass stricter laws and regulations in the coming days” he added.

Hubballi: Karnataka Lokayukta officials on Friday conducted raids at multiple zonal offices of the Hubballi-Dharwad City Corporation following complaints alleging bribery and delay in issuing land-related documents, including e-Swathu records.
The raids were carried out in the morning under the leadership of Siddalingappa S.T.. Separate teams inspected 12 zonal offices of the Corporation and examined records linked to land ownership and document processing.
According to sources, the Lokayukta received complaints from members of the public alleging that Corporation officials were demanding bribes for issuing e-Swathu and other land documents.
Residents reportedly alleged that applications were being deliberately delayed if bribes were not paid.
Based on these complaints, officials carried out inspections of files and records connected to land ownership and issuance of documents.
Further investigation is underway.
