New Delhi: The state government will take a call on whether it can reduce the cess on petrol and diesel, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said on Monday.
Speaking to reporters in Karnataka Bhavan after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, "We have reduced prices compared to other states. “The fuel prices have risen by the change in central government's oil policy,” he said.
Record rainfall has been reported in the seven districts of the state. Heavy rains have lashed after 118 years. Even though, some districts are facing a drought situation. 86 taluks are facing a drought. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been informed about the loss due to recent natural disasters in the state. The Prime Minister has been requested to provide basic facilities and crop loss relief, Kumaraswamy stated.
“Prime Minister has promised to send two teams to study the situation. Discussions have been held with Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the Mekedatu project. The Prime Minister has been convinced about the use of the project,” he added.
