Woman killed by wild tusker in Mandya
Mandya: A 50-year-old woman was allegedly killed by a wild elephant near Lalanakere here on Sunday morning, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Sakamma, and the incident occurred while she was on her way to the field for agricultural work.
The woman is said to have suffered injuries to her head and chest during the attack and died on the spot, official sources said.
Senior district administration and forest officials have visited the spot and further action is being followed, police said.

Four children drown in lake while trying to catch ducks in Chikkamagaluru
Chikkamagaluru: Four children drowned in a lake in Aralaguppe village after reportedly going to catch ducks, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Mahdia, Arunus, Nayus, and Abdul Rehman. The children were aged between 5 and 14 years. Another child, Armaan (4), escaped unhurt.
Police said the incident occurred at Karanji Lake in Aralaguppe village. Rural police visited the spot and are investigating the case. A case has been registered at the local rural police station.
